hinkeinkdisplaylibrary's Introduction

HINKeinkDisplayLibrary

Driver for HINK E-Ink E-Paper Displays Arduino

This library dont uses any Buffer, it will directly write to the E-Paper Display and dont uses much RAM, it is not as fast as with buffer.

One 10k Ohm Resistore is needed to use the library, see the example for pinout.

you also need the Adafruit GFX Library installed.

Tested with:

1.54" HINKE0154A35

2.9" HINKE029A14

4.2" HINKE042A11

Some interesting feature is the Border:

use it via:

display.setWhiteBorder();

display.setBlackBorder();

display.setRedBorder();

hinkeinkdisplaylibrary's Issues

Q:Possible support for new display?

Hey I have watched couple of your videos while trying to understand how to connect a label that I have but still cant find a similar diagram for the display that I have. The labels that I have are RAM only and I reset them by removing the battery so I want to use the board to connect external MCU like esp32 to control it (display is also soldered to the board). Display flex cable is marked as: HINK-E042A33-A0 / date:2022.07.08

Distortion on ESP32

I happend to acquire 4.2" HINK-E042A13 and went for your library but it seems like it's having some compatibility issues with ESP32. Text and circle appear distorted - missing pixels. I tried also 2.9" HINK-E029A10-A1 but same issue, so it's not the display but probably ESP32. I don't have any arduino at hand to try it out (huh) but I suspect it's some SPI timing on ESP32. The extension for GxEPD (https://github.com/mcer12/GxEPD_HINKE029A10_plugin) that I made based on your work works perfectly fine with both displays but I have issues adjusting resolution for the 4.2".
