epc901's Issues

Question about jumpers

Hi astuder,
First I wanted to thank you for your amazing work in this project. I had a question about the adapter shield. in your photo of the board I can see that you did not mount C3 and C4 capacitors on the shield so that means 5v connection on the board is ignored. Is that ok to use the board like you did (not mounting C3/C4 on shield and connect pins 1&2 on JP1 )?
in general, that would be helpful if you could mention default jumper connections on breakout and shield .
I appreciate very much your help on this and thanks again!

First frame of a burst is brighter than subsequent frames

This is likely related to charge build-up as described in section 5.6 of the epc901 datasheet.

However, the datasheet says that no flush is required in power-down mode, which we use when camera is idle. So not 100% clear what's going on.

To do: Experiment with periodically calling EPC901::_clear() while Camera is idle and during long burst intervals.

Shell stops accepting input

The shell hangs when typing while a command is busy.

The main loop still seems to be running, but not accepting any input.

Question convert to teensy and bbb

Hello first of all thanks for such a great project!

looking forward to replicate!

however I had a question: how hard is it to replace the nucleo with a teensy4.0? it runs way faster, is there a way you could come in contact with me?

i believe the bbb allows for python to run on it.

Could you send Me an email?

Many thanks!

First frame after MCU reset is dark

All pixels in the first frame after an MCU reset are dark (value ~320). To reproduce, reset MCU with reset button or shell command. Then use snap.py to take single frames.

The noisy data seems to indicate that this is real data read from the sensor and not an issue with the frame buffer of the Camera class.

I suspected the dummy SHUTTER pulse in EPC901::init() to be the problem. But a soft-reset of the sensor after the pulse does not solve the issue.
