Hi,
I found kitchen-inspector to be very useful for work with cookbooks but, I have a little problem. Berkshelf 2.x.x support is fading away and Chef developers are switching to Berkshelf 3.x.x. I've already started to use 3.x.x version of Berkshelf and I'm very happy with it and its progress.
I was wondering (since kitchen-inspector depends on berkshelf 2.x.x) do you have any plans changing its dependency to 3.x.x version of berkshelf ?
Saves duplication of the same parameters in kitchen_inspector.rb
.
You've already declared a hard dependency on Chef 11 gem, which has Chef::Config
classes and methods, so try using those.
$ kitchen-inspector inspect site-cookbooks/my-cookbook/

The cookbook has these dependencies:
depends "apt"
depends "chef_handler", ">= 1.0.6"
depends "yum"
Docs show one, help shows the other.
An alias? Which one should dominate?
$ kitchen-inspector help inspect
