aspace's Issues

Ships cannot see each other

Hi All,

I installed the stock db and everything seems fine except no ships can see each other. The two stock ships, Yarb and Mordak start in the stock db docked on deep space 11. and when i undock them, i get undock messages on the starbase, but when the ships undock they cannot see the sb or each other. Sensors are on, but i've also noticed that when i MAIN and AUX 100 on ships, the engines aren't producing power at all. Can anyone help?

Makefile instructions need an update as most of the context is lost

Hey there, just trying to follow your Makefile alteration instructions here in 2022, and the context from https://github.com/aspace-sim/aspace/wiki/Updating-Penn-Makefile seems to be lost.

There are a couple of points in the Pennmush Makefile that have a list of .c files now:

hdrs/cmds.h: src/cmds.c src/command.c src/cque.c src/help.c src/set.c src/sql.c Patchlevel
	@PERL@ utils/mkcmds.pl commands

hdrs/switches.h: src/SWITCHES Patchlevel
	@PERL@ utils/mkcmds.pl switches

src/switchinc.c: src/SWITCHES Patchlevel
	@PERL@ utils/mkcmds.pl switches

hdrs/funs.h: src/fun*.c src/bsd.c src/conf.c src/extmail.c src/help.c src/markup.c src/wiz.c src/sql.c Patchlevel src/cque.c
	@PERL@ utils/mkcmds.pl functions

As a result I cannot be certain how to follow the first instruction.

There is no list of *.o files in the Makefile anymore, so the second instruction cannot be followed.

The last instruction says to add the blob to the end of the makefile, which would put it as part of the htmldoc make target - which doesn't seem correct either.

Custom nebula

The automated nebula system is very static and not really interesting to use. In the experimental branch a functional nebula system is present. Would it be possible to merge these items into the main branch?

Version check?

Is there a way to check the version of aspace running on a game? Also, for comparison, what version is this (wiki says 1.3p0 but I see updates to the commit since then).

MUSH Unstable, 1.3p0 On

scr

I've painstakingly tried to create a proper DB to run this version of attyspace, preserving dbnumbers from 0-25. I can get as far as activating the system, but the mush will crash without warning at some point after starting the reactors. TinyMath is enabled.

I encounter crashes both with a cygwin compiled version of aspace+pennmush-r1813.tar.gz (which is not found here despite being required for this site's code to work) found at http://code.google.com/p/aspace-sim/downloads/list

and crashes after adding this sites src and hdr updated files (after recompiling)

Captain's Chair 0, onboard the Galaxy II ship included in this site, was debugging at the time of the last crash, and ive included a screenshot.

I've been referring to the latest stable version of Aspace with a windows binary for reference, everything seems to work as expected:

http://orcs.biz/mud/code/sourcery.org/archive/servers/tiny/mush/aspace/aspace1.1-penn1.7.5p7.Win32.exe

I would prefer to run the most modern version of Pennmush that I can, but if the instability cannot be addressed I will roll back to the last stable release I can find.

Please advise

Landing/Docking Bay Doors

This feature is undocumented and #38 starts with landing bay doors closed, so no good. I could not find in the source what they command syntax, nor could i find it looking through the console parents. Can someone point me to the right spot?

[Softcode] Bug in Admin Commands - C_SPACE_MAKECON

With C_SPACE_MAKECON you can add extra consoles to a ship (Using @space/makecon "name")

Doing this however clears the &CONSOLES var on the ship object and only adds the newly created consoledb#. This prevents at least "TEXT" to function properly.

@space/makeship

Hello,

Can someone please give me the accurate syntax for this? It's @space/makeship * named * in *

I have figured out that %0 is the dbref of the class %1 is the name of the ship but I cannot figure out what %2 (in *) is supposed to be. Can anyone help?

Console notifications

Console notifications are not working properly. The function "consolenotify" and "consolenotifyall" are present in the compiled functions and respond when not given the right arguments however the commands themselves don't work.

pennmush.hlp missing features

the pennmush.hlp mentions features that I cannot find in the code. Specifically the security console commands and the preset systems. There may be others. Are these features somewhere in the code or somewhere else on the net, or do they need to be redeveloped?

Unable to get anything from sdb(e)

Ive spent hours and hours trying to figure out how to get aspace going. I followed the instructions to a t found on the wiki and everything seemed to compile ok. But when I do sdb(e) as #1 is just get back sdb(e), no function not found error or anything. Is anyone still around that can help?
