My job

I am Head of Open and Responsible Science (ORS) at Erasmus Research Services, a department within Professional Services at Erasmus University Rotterdam. My responsibilities include:

leading the development of vision, strategy, and mid-term goals of the ORS team;
ensuring connection and collaboration with other departments, within Erasmus Research Services and the university at large;
organizing, directing, and conducting everyday and existing activities of the department and managing its human and material resources.

OSCR

I am founder and former coordinator of the Open Science Community Rotterdam (OSCR), a bottom-up community where researchers and support staff discuss and learn about open research practices. OSCR is part of the International Network of Open Science & Scholarship Communities (INOSC), which embraces many communities in the Netherlands and other regions in the world... and we are expanding!

In my spare time...

I am an independent researcher affiliated with the Institute for Globally Distributed Open Research and Education (IGDORE). I use behavioral tasks and non-invasive electrical brain activity to study emotion, attention, and visual perception. I analyze these complex datasets using a variety of approaches, for example mass univariate analysis of event-related brain potentials and Bayesian multilevel modeling.

missing acknowledgements (Chapter 3) in English version

@Enro & @CFillaud , I suggest adding your names in the English version of the acknowledgements... not only for consistency but also because it is well deserved!

Mistake in Chapter 2

Footnote 1 in Chapter 2 mentions OSCG (which is Groningen) while it should be OSCGalway.

Updating the map

I wonder if it's OK if I submitted a PR to update the map in the starter kit?

Unbalanced table width in Chapter 3

The first column is too narrow:

It's the slightly less annoying in English:

Column width is impossible to set in Markdown. The solution would be to add non breakable spaces in the column header, or to convert the table to HTML. See https://stackoverflow.com/questions/36121672/set-table-column-width-via-markdown/51701842

Do you think it is worth fixing @aschetti?

acknowledgements

Add Denise Capela dos Santos in all Acknowledgement sections (Portuguese, English, French).

Footnotes are not parsed

This behavior only happens with the French version where some footnotes are correctly parsed while others are not:

The Markdown syntax, however, is consistent and seems to be correct:

I have no idea what might be causing this…

It seems that Brian Nosek has an updated version of image content/en/docs/chapter1/fig4.png, looking at his talk. Is it possible to update the Starter Kit as well?

Troubleshooting the language selection menu

This is annoying. The Hugo / Wowchemy documentation doesn't provide any clue on what might be happening.

I have checked how other users handled it. This website runs fine in English and Spanish, with a functioning language selection menu: https://www.rescodedios.com I had a look at the source code and both its languages.toml and config.toml look no different than INOSC.

Also, no forum seems to report the same bug.

Let me check again what could be wrong… @aschetti Any ideas where we could ask for support?
