additive_keyer's Issues

Does not set rotation correctly when one rotation component missing from base layer

My mocap workflow creates mocap base layers that do not set rotation/location keys if those keys are not needed.

Additive_keyer will not insert a key for a particular rotation/location's key's x/y/z/w component if the base layer does not have that component. The result is an impartial key. Pressing the key button will warp the bone to a very different rotation.

Here are some possible fixes, however, you may have better solutions.

Possible Fix 1: Removing this if statement causes the key to always be inserted. Hitting the key button seems to key it in a very slightly different position, however, it is much closer and is usable for me so far.

Inside def _key_additive_rot(value):

#if base_fcurve != None:
if bone.rotation_mode != 'QUATERNION':
	bone.keyframe_insert(data_path = "rotation_euler")
else:
	bone.keyframe_insert(data_path = "rotation_quaternion")

Possible Fix 2: Alternatively, automatically adding a blank key to the base could also work. This seemed to result in better matching of keys in my manual test, however, Fix 1 was close enough I didn't investigate further.
