flos.old's Introduction

flos operating system

flos is Plan9, Unix and Xok/Aegis inspired hobby operating system. This project haven't its specification but just ideas which may be useful in future versions. This repository contains implementation of kernel and some libraries. I hope that I won't abandon this project like I did with old one (my bad).

Note from future: I did abandon this project since it reimplemented already used POSIX etc stuff. Currently I'm working on my own language (cell) compiler and experiementing with minimal libraries in Plan9 style.

Despite being simplistic this project helped me get two jobs.

Notable features:

  • gcc-cc: automatic gcc compiler (not mine)
  • static kernel page directory
  • universal bitmap for unsed/unused pages (better code exists somewhere!)

Have fun!
