lisaem's Issues

Unable to install Pascal Workshop

Installing the pascal workshop (v 3.0) fails to succeed. Attempting to erase/format the disk fails and the workshop installer complains that it cannot write to the disk. I've tried the installation with two different copies of Workshop (from Bitsavers and Macintosh Garden), 5M and 10M disks, the CPU throttled to 5Mhz, with 1.5MB and 1MB of RAM. All possible configurations fail with the same error.

Background:

  • Compiled Lisaem in an Ubuntu Docker container with a fresh copy of wxWidgets. Compilation succeeded with no obvious errors
  • Successfully installed LOS
  • Running with a boot ROM created per the procedure documented in another issue

Fata Error: IPC Table

I have successfully compiled LisaEm on an M1 Mac running OS 14.1 :-)

Starting up from any drive (ProFile or Floppy) gives the following error:

Sorry, the emulation aborted due to a fatal error
Couldn't get IPC Table! Doh!
Stopped at cpu68k.c:cpu68k_makeipclist:1056 with code :21
LisaEM will now quit.

Is this a bug? Incompatibility? User error??
Kind regards, Kevin.

Issue with ROMless mode

ROMless (romless) mode is currently broken, which can result in IPC Errors when attempting to boot from Profile or Floppy. The workaround is to use a legitimate Lisa ROM file.

Howto:

  1. Source and download the Lisa ROM files named 3410175H.bin and 3410176H.bin
  2. Rename 3410175H.bin to boot.hi and 3410176H.bin to boot.lo
  3. Launch the LisaEM app. When it opens, go to Preferences. Within "Lisa ROM", browse to boot.hi. Then hit Apply. This will generate a boot.ROM file within the same directory.
  4. Quit LisaEm
  5. Reopen LisaEm

If the issue persists, clear out the Lisa ROM location, quit LisaEm and follow steps 3-5 again, choosing boot.ROM instead of boot.hi.

Hello! LisaEm Crashes when booting with LOS

As i said before on other repo of LisaEm:
"This happened to me in RC4 and RC3. However, in the sable release this doesn't happen. What's going on?

maybe is the fact that is a release candidate."
