How it works

The Kanban-like-task-management project has two interfaces - the Board listing, and the Board details (when you enter a board by double-clicking on it).

Installation

Important!

Always back up your code tree and database before applying an import package or code tree patch!

Pre-requisites

Aras Innovator installed (version 11.0 SPx preferred)
Aras Package Import tool

Install Steps

Back up your database and store the BAK file in a safe place.
Open up the Aras Package Import tool.
Enter your login credentials and click Login.
- Note: You must log in as root for the package import to succeed!
Enter the package name in the TargetRelease field.
- Optional: Enter a description in the Description field.
Enter the path to your local ..\kanban-like-task-management\Import\imports.mf file in the Manifest File field.
Select aras.labs.kanbanliketaskmanagement in the Available for Import field.
Select Type = Merge and Mode = Thorough Mode.
Click Import in the top-left corner.
Close the Aras Package Import tool.
Copy ..\kanban-like-task-management\Innovator in your install folder
- Note: By default C:/Program Files/Aras/Innovator/

You are now ready to log in to Aras and try out Kanban-like task management.

Usage

Log in to Aras as admin.
Navigate to Project Innovator/Boards in the table of contents (TOC).
Click the add board button.
Edit the board name.
Double-click on the created board to open it.
Add stages and cards.
Cards can be opened by double-clicking and they can be drag and dropped from one stage to another.

Select and drag n drop multiple cards

Hello guys

I was hoping I might find some advise on how to select, drag and drop multiple cards at the same time on a new stage within the same board.

Will this be possible?

Project Innovator/Boards, No graphic interface

In the TOC, I select Project Innovator/Boards,

But in the main windows there is no graphic interface with "cards".
There is only a table, with Boards properties ( Statuses, name, description, wallpaper, wallpaperURL, creatorPicture.

Package installation was successful and files copied to innovator directory.
I'm using Aras innovator 11SP9,

Item Type Name Update

Hi,

I downloaded and installed the project and got an error when I tried to use the solution. However I picked up that the Names/Prefix of the Solution's Item Types i.e. "YMA" have been renames in the code but not on the Item Types. The Method to delete the relationship must also be edited to change the name of the Item Type accordingly.

Update to latest open release

Test and update to support Aras 11 SP12.

Card move from one board to another

Hi guys,
What would be the most efficient way to move a card from one board to another. What we looking at is having a button that when a card is selected and the button is invoked the card will be moved to another board. When a card has gone trhough it's stages from one board, we want to move it to another card without creating a new one in the other board.

Foster community spirit – add improvements/issues/ideas done by Aras employees

Hi Aras-Labs Team,

I have seen a tech demo at ACE Europe 2018 based on this sample. The presenter showed a advanced version of this project.
As the customization were made by Aras personal - can they share their improvements, issues and project experiences? Of course I am talking about topics, that are not highly customer specific.

But I am pretty sure that they can bring in a lot of benefital input to the project which will help the whole community! Maybe your colleagues fixed a few open issues or did an update to the latest version. Maybe they found some additional issues and pitfalls that would be also of interest for the community. Even just simple bug notes or test reports do not take much time, but help a lot!

At least Aras Consulters and Solution Architects should be role models in community work rather than just picking ideas from the projects and forum and leaving the bulk of the work to the Aras Labs team and community! There are already too many partners doing this.

It´s a thing of fairness and respect to other community members that active contribute to your projects!
I am looking forward to see more contributions from your colleagues! I am pretty sure this will have a huge positive impact to quite every single community project and will bring the community idea to a new level!
