Suggestion from the CMake Discourse thread:
All that being said. If you use
findyou should see the project that CMake generates for thetry_compile. You should be able to runmakein that directory and see if it can build the project or ifmakeis the program that is hanging.
My reply:
Brilliant idea - I’ll add steps to list the contents of the directory where try_compile is run, and go from there…

We've restarted the Cygwin builds recently, and they are running fine now..
