Logstash Filter Cache

This filter provide a cache where you can store data. This cache isn't here to store lots of elements or large elements.

Installation

bin/plugin install logstash-filter-cache

Usage

Put data in cache

   filter {
     cache {
       key => "keyTest"
       value => "TEST"
     }
   }

Get data from cache and put in a field

   filter {
     cache {
       key => "keyTest"
       get => true
       field => "data_in_cache"
     }
   }

Example

bin/logstash -e 'input { stdin {} } filter { cache { key => "keyTest" value => "TEST" } cache { key => "keyTest" get => true field => "data_in_cache" } } output {stdout { codec => rubydebug }}'
Logstash startup completed

Add ability to use dynamic key

The key is a static value and it would be nice to allow the use of any field value present in the event instead, like it is already the case for the value which allows it.

The idea is to allow this kind of keys:

   filter {
     cache {
       key => "%{keyField}"      # <--- add support for this
       value => "%{valueField}"  # <--- this already works
     }
   }
