Screencast fails to record for webm encoding on all screens

Running with --debug shows:

DEBUG Main - Starting counter.
DEBUG Main - Hiding main window.
DEBUG Main - Counter finished.
DEBUG Indicator - Recording started.
DEBUG GStreamer - Setting STATE_PLAYING
DEBUG GStreamer - Received an error message: gstbasesrc.c(2948): gst_base_src_loop (): /GstPipeline:pipeline0/GstXImageSrc:video_src:
streaming task paused, reason not-negotiated (-4)

and Kazam blocks, staying in recording state even though nothing is being recorded. Finishing the recording causes it to block on this forever:

DEBUG Main - Waiting for data to flush.
