youtube-speed-memory's Introduction

YouTube Speed Memory

GitHub release License: MIT Web store version User count Firefox store version Firefox User count

With the YouTube Speed Memory extension, you can apply custom playback speed settings for every video and channel, and even better, you aren't restricted to just the speed settings provided in the YouTube video controls.

Choose a speed for a video, or an entire channel, and every time a matching video plays, the appropriate speed is chosen. Great for playlist where you prefer a faster playback on certain songs. Also great when there is a particular channel, like one featuring coding tutorials, where you always find yourself turning the playback speed up.

This extension is open source and licensed under the MIT license, so you can feel free to check out the source code at the extension home page or even contribute to make it better!

youtube-speed-memory's Issues

Feature request: Add default speed for all videos

It would be very useful to add default speed for all videos. And this default speed to be then overwritten by the specific channels and videos.

Reason: for some users, the current default speed of 1 is just too slow for almost all videos (especially when people are talking)

Offtopic: thank you for this great open source extension!

Unable to retrieve Tab info for YouTube Speed Memory

When I open a YouTube video, I get the console errors: Unable to retrieve Tab info for YouTube Speed Memory and Unable to retrieve Tab info for YouTube Speed Memory.

Test environment: Chrome 69.0.3497.81 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Feature request: automatically confirm "still watching"

Periodically youtube asks if you are still watching if you are watching continuously for an extended period without interacting with the site. This happens regularly if you are listening to a long/continuous playlist and it interrupts playback until you confirm. It would be great to handle this dialog automatically so that play is not interrupted.
