Please see issue #23 - if you only care about media keys, you don't need spotify-gnome anymore. If you want the tray icons and notifications, just run spotify-gnome with --no-keys.

Funnily enough, the pay/pause key was working natively and only found out about spotify-gnome because of the next track/ previous track keys, which didn't. I guess that is the problem: Spotify gets the key press, and so does spotify-gnome, so they both act on it.

So I think there is still a user case for the key grabbing feature.

I'll try to modify this to ignore pay/pause only. Thanks.

Oh well, my mistake. After restarting my session I am getting double presses on all keys, so I guess Spotify is actually doing its job. I'll just use the --no-keys option, I like the notifications 😄.
