Within this committee, add subcommittees for Awards versus Scholarships. (i.e. awards and scholarships are decided by separate groups of volunteers).

very pleased to see the mission of the Conference Steering Committee is expanded on amianet.org. This offers a lot of clarification from the prior mission statement at the end of the Conference Committee.

This clarifies a few things that should be updated in the chart including that the CSC includes the members of CS chairs and not general members of the CS.

Hi! The AMIA Conference Online task force has been approved and is currently working on implementing livestreaming of the 2016 conference. Could we be added to the organizational structure document? Thanks!

According to the by-laws, the Board selects one director as Vice-President. I think the VP could also be any other director (such as Secretary), though no logically the President.

From the bylaws:

The Executive Board may select one director to serve a term of one year as Vice-President. The director so selected shall have such powers and perform such duties as may be delegated by the Executive Board, and shall succeed to the Presidency upon the death, resignation or removal of the then current President.

• A Task Force is formed by the Board in order to achieve a specific goal, needed for the Association's benefit. This has given good results in the past.
• A Working Group is formed by a Committee or across different Committees in order to realise a concrete activity. This should improve the Committee's work and life outside the yearly meeting at the conference, witch is often considered the weak point.

The Committees will now discuss this Board's idea – and this forum could also give essential inputs for the future!

Given recent discussion on AMIA-MEMBER-L about the status of various AMIA governing documents, I think it's worth noting the AMIA Governance Committee as a Board Committee, even though it is presently inactive.

"The Governance Committee assists the Board by drafting and reviewing governance documents, reviewing Committee manuals for their compatibility with other Association documents and requirements, providing systematic review of the bylaws to keep pace with future changes in the association, and helping to resolve conflicts within the Association as needed."

I suggest added inactive task forces as well since their work could potentially be built upon in the future. I've found reference to a few:

• Local Television Task Force
• Website Task Force
• Book Publishing Task Force
• Small Gauge Task Force
• Internationalization Task Force

Within the section for the AMIA Board, I think the directors could be subdivided into:

• Elected Directors
• Designated Directors

AFAIK, (@retokromer?) there are currently no Designated Directors but the board has the power to appoint them up to a ratio of 2:1 Elected to Designated.
