GNOME 3.18 Support

Seems like this extension is not working with gnome 3.18 yet.
Since gnome 3.18 is just released. you may need to add gnome 3.18 support.

Not working on 3.20.2

Does not work on Gnome-Shell 3.20.2, running Manjaro Linux 64.
I have tried installing locally using extensions.gnome.org and using the AUR and installing system wide. Does not trigger the transparency.

Ajouter le mot "Transparent" dans la description

Salut,
Tu pourrais ajouter le mot "transparent" dans la description sur le site de Gnome Extension, car il n'y est pas et donc ça n'est pas très pratique pour trouver l'extension. (Il y a juste "Dynamic Top Bar" comme mots-clé)
Allez bon we !

"CRITICAL" Gnome-Shell Errors in system log due to dynamic top bar extension

Hey,

I recently had a look into my systemlog (using journalctl -xe) and I found a lot of CRITICAL gnome shell errors (see gnome-shell-errors.txt, not quite sure if the first two three lines belong to it). They appear every time that I open the gnome shell overview and by disabling all my extensions one by one I discovered that they are produced by this extension. What are they about? I'm running on a Gnome 3.20 (no difference between wayland and X11).

Yours,
Marius

Shadows aren't properly assigned when a window touches the topbar

When a window is dragged, GNOME Shell tries to change its shadows in a way which leaves inconsistencies when using the dynamic top bar extension. This is especially noticeable when the button shadow option is disabled:

It also happens when it is enabled, though - pay attention to the application icon

Don't make whole corners invisible, just make their BG transparent

Currently you seem to hide whole corners which leads to glitches like this:
zrzut ekranu z 2015-04-29 12 54 47
This is an Overview button; notice the gap on the left - normally it looks like this:
zrzut ekranu z 2015-04-29 13 19 56
You could just change the background of the corners from black to transparent. This should preserve those white borders.

Translation issues

Original English text has some issues:

  • It says tranparency instead of transparency in multiple places (e.g. #: prefs.js:61 msgid "Tranparency style").
  • One switch is labeled "Button shadow" and other "Show Activity button text". This is a bit inconsistent: "X" vs "Show X". Per Gnome Human Interface Guidelines ( https://developer.gnome.org/hig/stable/switches.html.en ) the name of the function affected by the switch should be used as the label. So it should be "Button shadow" and "Activity button text". (Switch is for enabling and disabling and "Enable Activity button text" sounds better than "Enable show Activity button text".)
  • Capitalization of dropdown items should be different (sentence capitalization, see https://developer.gnome.org/hig/stable/drop-down-lists.html.en ). So "Transparency" and "Gradient" instead of "transparency" and "gradient".
  • It's the "Activities" button, not the "Activity" button. See this: Gnome Shell screenshot

Keep up the good work, very subtle extension but adds a lot to shell's UI/UX!

Feature request

After the application is maximized, can you make the topbar changes color with the application color?

Transparency on maximized window

I have a suggestion to have an option to still have transparency enabled when a window is maximized, a ON/OFF switch would suffice.

Update metadata.json to support GNOME Shell 3.18

I'm using Arch Linux and have the latest version of shell. So, I was unable to use this extension because it supports versions up to 3.16 but not 3.18. I manually changed metadata.json, so I was able to enable extension. And it works! You don't need to do any changes in code, just update that file so more users will be able to install&use the extension. Thanks

UPD: Sorry, you've already done that, I didn't see. You may close this issue

Extension does not works on GNOME 3.18.1/3.18.2

Hello,

I am using the Fedora 23 with GNOME 3.18.1, everything up to date. I have been downloaded and installed the extension but the gnome-tweak-tool do not found the extension installed on my system.
