On small terminal windows (80ch), long paths wrap onto multiple lines - making them hard to read.

Investigate:

• if wrapping the path / git branch onto extra lines can be done.
  • Ways to obtain col/line information:
    • $COLUMNS and $LINES
    • tput cols and tput lines
    • stty size
• alternatively, can the current working directory be truncated to something shorter in these scenarios?

Git can load config from files. A .gitconfig should be added.
