replace page number references and anchor links (with markdown links?)

There are still some physical page references and one residual anchor link in the code.

  • For details on **Resistance Rolls**, see page 28.
  • They’re all described on the next page.
  • (See the sets of possible outcomes, by position, on the next page.)
  • See the next page.
  • (samples provided on the next page).
  • Examples are provided on the preceding page.
  • (see the complete descriptions on the following page)
  • see the following pages.
  • See **Advancement**, page 40.
  • See page <a href="Generic_Character_Playbook.html#_idTextAnchor013">38</a> for more details.
  • (detailed on the next page)
  • See page 94 for details.
  • The entanglements are detailed on the following pages.
  • See **Crew Upgrades**, page 65.
  • Common alchemicals (see **Sample Creations** on page 226)
  • (see the results on the next page)
  • (see examples on the sample creations, next page)

The last reference (to sample creations) also brings up the point that there are no stubs in the SRD for things the game designer needs to fill in, so some of these references are dangling. Is there a preferred way to fix this problem in the SRD?

The <a href=...> instance above is the only one in the document.

Can we replace the page references with links of the form [ text ]( link ) to explicitly added anchors? I'm not sure how widely supported that is in various markdown flavors. I'm also not sure how well it converts to LaTeX references when using something like pandoc-citeproc.

Small formatting error

It's small (and not important at all) but I noticed there is a small error in line 704 of the "Blades-in-the-Dark-SRD.md" file

* You might **Study** ancient and obscure books to discover an arcane secret. *How can I disable the runes of warding? **Will anyone sense if they're disabled?*

The double asterisk shouldn't be there

rewrite in asciidoctor?

I noticed that there are a few todos e.g. @TODO add Action Roll table p21 in line 359 of Blades-in-the-dark-SRD.md that are difficult to get done in markdown because it just doesn't have the tools to get it done. I've worked with a few other markdown-ish languages that have better tooling, and asciidoctor looks like it may fit the needs of this doc.

i can start to try to convert the doc to asciidoctor, and then work on the todos.

plus, this repository is missing build/contribution instructions; i could do that too

Amount of Stress missing

The number of points there are in a stress bar is missing from the SRD. I suspect this is more the result of careless copying from the original rulebook, rather than a deliberate choice to not release that information.

define game-terms to separate from formatting

It would be nice to have a master list of game terms checked into this repo. I've made a checkable list below of the terms currently marked up with <span class="game-term"> ... </span>. If someone could

  • explain what is intended to be a game term, or
  • check the boxes next to the game terms on the list,

it'll be easy to clean up the markdown.

One further question.

  • Should game terms (used as such) always be marked up and always be capitalized?

For example, the word "coin" shows up in the document in its technical usage without markup, in lowercase with markup, and capitalized with markup.
