pantheon-default-settings invalid key

I'm not sure if this is where you want bug reports or on AUR. I find github easier to use and you responded last time. But, let me know what is better for you.

I was able to install, but now I receive this message when I use pacman. I was able to edit the file mentioned, which seems to have fixed it on my system. I deleted the line because I didn't see a terminal like key for my media keys.

No such key 'terminal' in schema 'org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.media-keys' as specified in override file 'usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/25_pantheon-default-settings.gschema.override'; ignoring override for this key.

Typos in libgnome-control-center

Depends should be (at the end of the line): 'gnome-common' ' ..
And the gnome-control-center depend doesn't work that well, it seems not be able to detect the package in the arch-repos.

question?

where is pantheon-session-git? is something changing in the dependencies? and where to find info?

ARM packages

Can you please update the PKGBUILDs to allow the armv7h architecture, and eventually host armv7h packages in your repo? Thanks.

wingpanel-bzr not working properly

I've installed all packages for a full working pantheon in my Arch with GDM.

Wingpanel only show the Applications launcher and the Close, Shutdown, etc. menu but the menu is not working and the indicators aren't show

plank-bzr requires libdbusmenu-gtk3

$ sudo pacman -S plank-bzr

Building the dependancy from AUR solved the issue

Dota 2 Reborn which is the default now doesnt work.

Dota 2 was working but Reborn wasnt and I always get the following error

failed to dlopen "librendersystemgl.so" error=libudev.so.0: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32
failed to dlopen "libpangoft2-1.0.so" error=libpng12.so.0: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32
Plat_GetProcAddresses: unable to load 'libpangoft2-1.0.so'

Now that Dota 2 has moved to reborn I cant play it at all.
Is there something wrong with my system libs.
Note : I installed many of missing libs before I found your repo.
Im on 64 with multilib enabled.

maya does not build due to an API change in evolution data server

As the title says evolution data server had an API change in connect_sync.

Here is a simple hackish bzr diff that fixes it.

Add ARM builds

I tried to modify each PKGBUILD and added 'armv7h'. However I get an error when I try to install slingshot-launcher-bzr:

==> Install or build missing dependencies for slingshot-launcher-bzr:

Is there any chance to see arm support or do they have to port more code upstream? Any ideas?

libpantheon deprecated

"This library is deprecated, please use libswitchboard which is provided by the switchboard project lp:switchboard"

Should this package still be updated/in the repo? :)

Gala wm possible bug

Hi @alucryd , I am the builder project of Manjaro pantheon .
First of all thank you for making this possible , without your work this would not be born .
Since the wingpanel still has problems I replaced it with budgie - panel but the session is pure pantheon .
Now we come to the bug . The package does not work with gala mutter 3.16 , must regress to 3.14 and then recompile gala from bzr ....
https://forum.manjaro.org/index.php?topic=22760.msg201306#msg201306

Sound indicator causes wingpanel to crash

wingpanel-indicator-sound-bzr-r14-1

Media Keys are not working

in the Settings > Keyboard > Shortcuts

all is setup, but example printscreen not working even if i change the short cut o ther thing is like X that hears for the printscreen is not listening

These can simple be removed. :)

Background path should be: /usr/share/backgrounds/pantheon/elementaryos-default.

Thanks. :)

No session package anymore

I assume you are still overhauling things, but in the event that this was simply overlooked...

There is no pantheon-session-git package. To my knowledge, this leaves no way to start pantheon as an actual desktop session.

lightdm-pantheon-greeter-bzr dependency error

I tried to build lightdm-pantheon-greeter-bzr with yaourt (on x64):

yaourt -S lightdm-pantheon-greeter-bzr

But I get the error:

screenshot from 2016-01-12 19 55 39

I want to note that I have not installed pantheon-session-bzr yet, which might pull in additional dependencies that were missing before. You might need to add those dependencies.

Any ideas?

Edit:

I tried to install wingpanel-bzr but that said libgala.so is not found.

I then tried to install gala-bzr. Then wingpanel-bzr built fine!

And after this lightdm-pantheon-greeter-bzr build correct, but I get the following error after installing:

screenshot from 2016-01-12 20 10 47

I tried:

sudo pacman -S dconf

But the error still exists after reinstalling. It seems that dconf update fails.

sudo mkdir -p /etc/dconf/db

Seems to make the warning disappear. However I do not know if this was a good idea to fix it.
The package then installed properly.

now I tried to install pantheon-session-bzr. First error is:

target not found: libswitchboard-2.0.so

Okay, I installed switchboard-bzr then. It seems to run finally with success!

Now pantheon runs with a very buggy DE. It also seems that gnome was automatically installed as dependency. Is this really required?

pantheon-default-settings-bzr (and other packages as well) also give an error:

yaourt -S pantheon-default-settings-bzr

(5/5) installing pantheon-default-settings-bzr [###############################################################] 100%

The last 2 lines only occur in the elementary terminal (not in xterm). It might be a .bashrc problem.

The fix (dependency missing)

sudo pacman -S libnm-gtk

yaourt -S switchboard-plug-online-accounts-bzr

# In dependecy: libgsignon-glib
error: ‘g_simple_async_result_complete’ is deprecated [-Werror=deprecated-declarations]

This is an error in the source files, not a dependency error.

yaourt -S wingpanel-indicator-launcher-bzr

error: target not found: wingpanel-rewrite-x11-bzr

yaourt -S wingpanel-indicator-notifications-bzr

The package is in the github repo but not found with yaourt.

And finally after installing some of the apps I did a reboot. And the plank and wingpanel disappeared.
I will stop here, since I do not want to fix all those issues. It sadly seems pantheon is just not made for arch at this stage. I mean I got really far, learned something new, but its not useable outside a VM. But thx for keeping this repo alive. I am still willing to help if you can resolve this issues.

Edit: It looked like It tried to start gnome, instead of pantheon. However the wingpanel disappeared anyways, but the plank is still there.

Also the applications menu is now accessible from the login screen, but the programs wont launch, which is a bug, that its even there.

Update pantheon-terminal to vte 2.91

Hello alycryd,

Following the recent vte3 update, pantheon-terminal stops working for me. It now reports:

error while loading sharde libraries: libvte2_90.so.9: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Sym-linking libvte-2.91.so to libvte2_90.so.9 doesn't work, as it reports:

pantheon-terminal: symbol lookup error: pantheon-terminal: undefined symbol: vte_terminal_cursor_shape_get_type

Maybe updating pantheon-terminal to vte 2.91 should fix this problem?

Can't install on manjaro

hi @alucryd ...I'm trying to install pantheon on majaro linux but I'm receiving the message "package not found

error: no se ha encontrado el objetivo: pantheon-session-bzr

I'm following this guide (I add the repo to pacman.conf)

https://forum.antergos.com/topic/1274/install-pantheon-d-e/2

, sorry I'm a bit newbie with arch and the package manager, so if you can explain me what I am doing wrong I'll really appreciate....thank you so much!!!

Question: About indicator-session in AUR

Hello @alucryd ,

Appreciate your great job. Actually I'm new to Unity, Pantheon and LightDM. It may be hasty in adopting package AUR - indicator-session. Sorry that this is not an issue for this repo and I just don't want to mess up the comment field of AUR. 😅 Here is my questions:

  1. I thought indicator-session could only be used in Unity desktop and LightDM Unity Greeter before. But could it be used in other programs or other LightDM greeters? It seems that Pantheon have to use indicator-pantheon-greeter-bzr as mentioned in Pantheon - Indicator-session menus not working.
  2. Pantheon is created for Elementary OS distribution, which is derived from Ubuntu. I guess Pantheon is designed to run in GTK+ 3 with Ubuntu patches. So why should we prevent from depending on GTK+ 3 with Ubuntu patches (i.e. gtk3-ubuntu) ?
  3. Is Pantheon going to strip off anything with Ubuntu patches? Does it mean that Pantheon developer decide to stick on indicators 12.10 branch and give up supporting the latest version? Then, could we just split the 12.10 branch into a separate package indicator-xxx1210 so that users could distinguish Pantheon packages from Unity packages?

Hope for your reply! 😍

Yours sincerely! 🙇

Cannot install pantheon-session-bzr

From Arch wiki, it is said to use your repo to install Pantheon. However, it fails because not find gtk-engine-unico package. I find it in AUR. Could you please add it to your repo?
