Deploy service to the cloud

As a software developer
I need deploy the services to the cloud
So that we can take advantage of its benefits, such as scalability and flexibility

Details and Assumptions

  • We will use IBM cloud

Acceptance Criteria

Given I deployed the services to the cloud
When user access the URL of the service
Then it should work properly

Must persist counter across restarts

As a Service Provider
I need the service to persist the last known count
So that users don't lose track of their counts after the service is restarted

  • We will use a Redis database
  • Counter will be stored as name value pair

Given I have incremented the counter to 2
When I restart the service

  • Database still needs to be provisioned
  • App needs to be pushed and connected to the database

Acceptance Criteria

Given I have deployed to the cloud
When a customer comes to our URL
Then our service will be available

Counters can be reset

As a System Administrator
I need the ability to reset the counter
So that I can redo counting from the start

  • The reset function should only be accessed by system administrator.

Acceptance Criteria

Given reset service is called
When user is a system administrator
Then reset the counter value to 0

Need the ability to update a counter to a new value

As a website owner
I need the ability to update a counter to a new value
So that I can accurately reflect changes in website traffic or other metric

Details and Assumptions

  • Add operations log to record update behaviors
  • Counter value can not be negative

Acceptance Criteria

Given user updated the counter value from 10 to 20
When user get the counter value
Then it should return 20
