Peer id values get clipped inconsistently in tables, sometimes there are ellipses and sometimes not. See screenshot:

The current main tab view should instead be a left-side "source" list, much like the ipfs web interface:

This would look nicer, but also remove some of the box-in-box-in-boxiness of the current interface.

If an ipfs daemon is running when Asterist starts, it should be interfaced with instead of failing when trying to start our own. However, if we did start our own, its PID should be saved to disk so that on startup we can check if that PID is running and if so terminate it and start a new one. In other words, handle our own processes and stay away from others.
