obscurify's Issues

Feature Idea

Just want to say - ❤️the app, a lot, i've been showing all my friends. Also love that spotify is so open with their APIs and data.

You know what would be an awesome feature is seeing your happiness/danceability/etc over time. Obviously not a quick thing to implement, but I think people would love to see that. I might try to pull this down and run it, but i haven't written angular in a while so I could be a little rusty.

YTD and Yearly My Artist/My Tracks stats

Hi Alex,

Love the website, especially my own listening statistics.
Is there any way you could add a list of YTD, or even better a slider for most played artists/tracks stats of every year?
Spotify used to publish these every year but they don't give numbers anymore since last year.

Expected DOM elements not showing after spotify login.

The expected DOM elements that should be displayed is not showing when logging in spotify. It only shows a blue -green background. This errors shows up in the console log:

track-list-header: artistNav and trackNav selection confusing

Hello, thanks for making such a great app alex!

This is not a huge issue, and it might not even be, but in this section of the website:

It's a little bit confusing to know which one is selected if you just look at the two titles.

I use the site a few times a month and I have been for a few months. I love the new update, the UI is amazing. But every time I come back to the site, I notice those 2 titles and I have to figure out which is the one that's selected? The reason for this is that I usually relate underlined text with the one being currently selected. Now the unselected one is not underlined, but it still confuses my eye.

Let me just repeat: this is not a major issue, just a suggestion, it might be just me.

Anyway, if this is recognized as a potential issue, I'm willing to propose a few alternatives and develop it as well. Even if it's not, I'm still going to use it!

Thanks!

Issues with the newest version

I found some stuff that could be improved with the newest version you guys just posted:

  • The github link disappeared. Was it intentional or did you forget to add it back? I think it would be cool to add it since you mention the project being open source in your privacy policy.
  • The current top artists / tracks are way too low, there's a lot of space not used. Maybe you could remove some of the color stripes? I thought the website was empty when I first visited it, which is why I went on the Github to open an issue about it. It was kind of weird since I've been using the app for quite some time now.
  • This is more of a UX thing, but I think the "Switch Lists" button is redundant because of the toggle between artists / songs and the bullet point list.

Regardless, I think the new version looks really good! Just these are the small improvements I found that you could probably update. I don't really know Angular, I'm more versed with other front-end frameworks, but I could probably tackle some of these issues?

Authorization Scope

This is more of a question:

Does the Authorization scope need to include "Create, edit and follow"??

Message on authentication screen reads:

Take actions in Spotify on your behalf
Create, edit, and follow private playlists
Create, edit, and follow playlists

Is this necessary, can it be changed?

last.fm support

Hi Alex, I was wondering if it could be possible to implement a login through last.fm as I don't use spotify and the former is what has been tracking my music listening for the last 6~ years

I'm willing to take a look at the code and put together a pull request in the next few days if the idea is accepted (be aware: I have never done a pull request before, it might take some time and patience on your end)
