Was having issues sharing with LI. The update_methods.rb file seems to be missing a require for 'xmlsimple', so I added that in my local version, but still having errors.
Here is the response I am getting atm:

I believe that message may be due to the Content-Type of the request not being set to 'application/xml'. I made that change while I was messing with it, and then was getting errors about the sent XML root node being 'opt' instead of 'share'.

Dont really have time to look into this further at the moment, but wanted to be sure the issue was documented. Thanks!

So not sure what the TODO in the README means exactly.

Can you please release this to rubygems.org?
