Mentor in Programming and understanding computers

I have been a programmer since the 1990's (and people started paying me for it since 2001). In this time I have worked with many different languages, tools, systems, etc. I was a senior programmer at the largest social network in the Netherlands, and was CTO of a business I started with two former colleagues (which we managed to sell later).

I have a master's degree from University of Amsterdam and one from Cambridge University.

I do believe that there is a huge difference between someone who knows to make a program, and a programmer, just like there is a difference between someone with a rhyming dictionary and a poet.
I do believe that any focus on language is wrong. If you're trying to hire someone with 5 years Java experience, you're doing it wrong; you should be trying to hire a great programmer, they'll pick up Java and be better than an average programmer with 5 years of experience.
I do believe that great programmers know some exotic (programming) languages, or designed and implemented their own language, just because of the fun of it

I'd be happy to mentor someone who is trying to reach all these same goals.
