The --mock switch referenced in the README appears to have no effect on the build / serve process.
Usage of a mock backend appears to be based on instead on env defined.
When running with the mock system backend, updates to system state are not reflected on the UI until the next user interaction.
The console show's notify events taking place and the behavior is observable across both FF and Chrome (using commit 2044bca).
