This is a new React Native project, bootstrapped using @react-native-community/cli.

A React Native app developed as part of the final assignment for the COMP2140 course in The University of Queensland. The application, SongTrax Mobile, is a mobile application developed in React Native that allows users to view song samples shared to geographic locations around the world created in the SongTrax Web App. The application involves accessing a remote REST API and displaying its data to the users, it consists of multiple pages to effectively display data from the API to the users.

Upon opening the app, users are presented with a map, this displays all locations that contain song samples, identified as a purple circle. If users select one of these circles they're presented with a list of all samples shared to that location, along with the locations name.

When a user selects a sample, they are presented with a new page that shows further details of that sample and allows them to preview it.

Users also have the ability to update their in-app profile, this includes selecting a profile name and picture.

• Dark Mode/Light Mode, it can switch between a dark mode and light mode, this depends on colour mode preferences set by the users in their respective operating systems settings.

Note: Make sure you have completed the React Native - Environment Setup instructions till "Creating a new application" step, before proceeding.

First, you will need to start Metro, the JavaScript bundler that ships with React Native.

To start Metro, run the following command from the root of your React Native project:

# using npm
npm start

# OR using Yarn
yarn start

Let Metro Bundler run in its own terminal. Open a new terminal from the root of your React Native project. Run the following command to start your Android or iOS app:

# using npm
npm run android

# OR using Yarn
yarn android

# using npm
npm run ios

# OR using Yarn
yarn ios

If everything is set up correctly, you should see your new app running in your Android Emulator or iOS Simulator shortly provided you have set up your emulator/simulator correctly.

This is one way to run your app — you can also run it directly from within Android Studio and Xcode respectively.

Now that you have successfully run the app, let's modify it.

1. Open App.tsx in your text editor of choice and edit some lines.

2. For Android: Press the R key twice or select "Reload" from the Developer Menu (Ctrl + M (on Window and Linux) or Cmd ⌘ + M (on macOS)) to see your changes!

   For iOS: Hit Cmd ⌘ + R in your iOS Simulator to reload the app and see your changes!

You've successfully run and modified your React Native App. 🥳
