NATIONAL PARKS API PROJECT

This app was created for the Phase 3 project at Flatiron's Software Engineering Bootcamp. It pulls data from th National Parks Service API, and allows the user to search through all the parks in the database, display information on the frontend, and submit reviews.

GETTING STARTED

To get started, you'll need to have Ruby, Node.js, and NPM installed on your machine. Once you have those installed, you can follow these steps:

  1. Clone the repository
  2. Navigate to the project directory: cd national-parks
  3. Install dependencies: bundle install
  4. Create the database: rake db:create
  5. Migrate the database: rake db:migrate
  6. Add seed data: rake db:seed
  7. Start the Rails server: bundle exec rake server
  8. In a separate terminal window, navigate to the client directory: cd client
  9. Install dependencies: npm install
  10. Start the React app: npm start
