Need a service that has a counter

As a User
I need a service that has counter
So that I can keep track of how many times something was done

Details and Assumptions

  • Need a way to increment a counter
  • Need a way to get the current value

Acceptance Criteria

Given I have increment the counter to 2
When I make call to get the current value
Then it should return 2 as the counter value

Need the ability to remove a counter

As a System Administrator
I need the ability to remove a counter that is of no use
So that I can manage them easily

Details and Assumptions

Acceptance Criteria

Given [some context]
When [certain action is taken]
Then [the outcome of action is observed]

Must persist counter across restarts

As a Service provider
I need the service to persist the last known count
So that users don’t lose track of their counts after the service is restarted

Details and Assumptions

  • We will use Redis database
  • Counter will be stored as a name value pair

Acceptance Criteria

Given I have incremented counter value to 2
When I restart the service
Then the counter should return 2

Need the ability to update a counter to a new value

As a System Administrator
I need the ability to set a new value to a counter
So that [benefit] users can have a predefined starting value

Details and Assumptions

  • The function should accessed using POST /counters/{name}/set

Acceptance Criteria

Given The counter has some initial value
When the customer calls this function with a new value
Then the counter value should be set to the new value

Counters can be reset

As a System Administrator
I need I need the ability to reset the counter
So that So that I can redo counting from the start

Details and Assumptions

  • the reset function should accessed using POST /counters/{name}/reset

Acceptance Criteria

Given the counter has the value of 2
When the customer calls the reset function
Then the counter value should be reset to 0

Deploy service to the cloud

As a Service Provider
I need the ability to deploy the service to the cloud
So that the service will be available to users 24/7

Details and Assumptions

  • We will use IBM Cloud
  • We will use cloud foudry App

Acceptance Criteria

Given the service is successfully built and deployed to the cloud
When a customer accessed the service using the url
Then the service will be available to the customer

Must allow multiple counters

As a User
I need to have multiple counters
So that I can keep track of several counts at once

Details and Assumptions
