As it is, the projects needs to be migrated and seeded for some tests to pass. Moving the data to a test specific provider would be correct.

Make sure api is using the proper http codes. 422 for validation failure, 404 for model not found, etc.

That extends the Illuminate/Http/Request object currently used and make adjustments to the dependency injection.

The put/patch routes allow email addresses to be updated. The validation works to check for uniqueness except for the current record but there is no unit test for this.

Currently the model binding throws a ModelNotFoundException - this should be handled in the exception handler so that errors are shown as json with appropriate response codes.
