Beat Procrastination Today

We do not procrastinate. Ever.

We REFUSE to.

That is all because we work at the discipline of not falling into that trap each day, every day.

We beat procrastination because we deliberately train every single day with an understanding that procrastination will haunt us ... if we are not DILIGENT in beat the demon of procrastination.

The reason why we cannot ignore the procrastion demon is that people do things will tend to have things they must do, things which dominate their days because they are focused those few top five or twenty-five or FEW things which dominate their mindshare.

But people who do things will also have projects that sit on the backburner ... perhaps hundreds of them ... that is how the creative ideation process works; there are continually new ideas, new products, new projects.

Wage slaves or contract-for-hire professionals do NOT really understand this -- they do not have to. They just work at the gig which "employs" them according to their boss's priorities. People with that mindset might have the one BIG IDEA per month or year ... and when that BIG IDEA comes along that month, they will imagine they should patent the idea ... and they will generally hide ideas from others, using the excuse that "knowledge is power" or their franchise as a professional is based on them "knowing things."

But creative developers tend to have BIGGER, BUT POSSIBLY MORE NEBULOUS IDEAS every few minutes.

That kind of natural, inherent brainstorming process NECESSITATES a constant backburnering of ideas ... without a practical, effective way of backburnering ideas, creative developers will succumb to ADHD ... or they will need to take drugs to carpetbomb their vibrant neurological jungle of ideas back into the stone age .

Usually, the tendency to sort of lose shit on the backburner arises out of the undisputable reason that completion of the project simply cannot be top priority YET ... we might be waiting for specific resources ... we don't have financing for everything ... we have not yet carved out the time to just get at it ... perhaps, some other event has to happen first before we can begin ... as Isamo Noguchi would say, the big rock has not yet told us what kind of sculpture it wants to be, so we need to listen and have long conversations with the big rock.

The POINT here is that FIRST OF ALL we need to STOP beating ourselves up for backburnering projects.

Backburnering projects is A NECESSITY!

However, MANAGING the backburner according to OUR values and OUR priorities is OUR responsibility. We need to clarify exactly what is our responsibility and what is not.

When we are in relationships, we NEED TO manage our backburner projects together OR ELSE we need to find ways to de-escalate that relationship back down to that point where we are just friends ... people who just friends do not have accounts to balance OR unfinished, open-ended projects to manage together ... being in a RELATIONSHIP with somebody else means that there are projects.

When we have backburner projects, it is essential to invest some time each day in priorization and curation of a LIST of the the top 200 or so backburner projects which you that should finish, eliminate, repair, 5S, or develop a plan for ... the goal of this exercise is to have a plan for every project, but new projects will crop up.

It is essential that we DO AT LEAST ONE TEDIOUS, NAGGING THING WE GENERALLY DISPISE DOING each day ... for AT LEAST 25 minutes ... when we don't have some sort of approaching deadline, we can time limit our misery or disgust with the tedium ... but IF that one thing not something you must finish -- be sure to spend at least 25 minutes, doing shit you really don't like doing to just put a dent in the damn thing.

If you have a DEADLINE ... then it's actually way EASIER ... this is how lazy people do things, they just put it off until the pressure of the approaching deadlines makes it so they HAVE TO do things ... so they dump their stupid shit on somebody else -- that's why tax accountants and lawyers get paid.

Pyramid of Focus ... EVERYTHING supports your WHY

First things first. First of all, you must...

KNOW YOUR WHY.

The whole architecture of your time management discipline will be and should be entirely different. You are in the driver's seat; it's up to you to design and customize an approach that works for you and where you are now in your life ... of course, you might use useful tools, automation, apps ... but it's all about efficiently, expediently driving toward your WHY. The most important thing starts with having some clue about what your WHY is, but it really boils down to the seconds in your day, focused on the planned task at hand, to help you better KNOW YOUR WHY ... as you actually do your tasks, you will see what you need to correct, re-shape and better time sculpt ... remember time sculpting is what you take away, primarily about removing the bad habits of being yourself ... but you really cannot KNOW YOUR WHY without planning, executing, doing your planned tasks so that you can coach yourself in your time sculpting ... it will become obvious to you as you improve your time mgmt discipline.

It's your archictecture, because it has to fit your life

How you structure your time management discipline is your business ... but you WILL want to CHEAT, to steal ideas for what works, to buy coaching/training that can help your with your WHY ... YOUR why is the bigger picture; it's not going to be in all of the little details ... for the little details you want to look around and use/borrow the best ideas ... one of the most important skills in KNOWING YOUR WHY is understanding WHAT IS NOT your WHY, but might be somebody else's WHY.

Of course, you will need to OWN the overall approach ... you OWN the mission ... but just as you should steal ideas and not make everything from scratch -- you should also part with some of your money to avail yourself of high quality, professional services ... when you pay, even a small annual subscription fee, you should not tolerate second rate services. Particularly, because this realm is so intensely competitive NOW and the competitive landscape changes. The best service from 5 years ago would not compete in the current market; the best from 10 years ago might not even be in the game any more. The competitive landscape means that there are especially great, but inexpensive ways in the VIRTUAL realm, eg apps, FiveRR microworkers, to USE high quality professionals to improve your execution, to stop messing around and just get down to business and get stuff done ... and the prices in the VIRTUAL REALM are less than what you would pay for the fuel to commute to a professional service in the physical realm for a month.

Inexpensive VIRTUAL professional services and AI automation will speed little tasks up dramatically, so that your time can be put to a higher and better use ... stop driving -- start using virtual services to optimize your time use.

An example of how this works in practice might help ... you might want use 30 min time blocks made up of 25 min pomodoros with 4 minute high intensity interval training exercise snacks or Tabatas. Working 10 or 15 4 min HIIT Tabatas into every day's time blocking sounds too good to be true in theory because being more fit will dramatically amp up your productivity and improve your mental outlook ... but you might notice that in your practice or the execution of trying to accomplish the 15 Tabata day, that you tend to waste time thinking about what should be or you might overthink the balance part of daily exercise routine. Well, somebody has already solved this problem AND automation quickly solves it for you. You really need a personal trainer. Actually, an AI task master would be good enough and an app would taking the hesitation out of it -- you just need to exercise, you do not have to become personal trainer OR train like a serious competitive athlete ... you're just an ORDINARY person who needs to be more fit ... you just need GET GOING.

Of course, if you think about it a bit; you will realize that there are all kinds of inexpensive ways to get fantastic personalized plans for you per a fitness regimen fitting your goals for the whole year ... it's a competitive industry with almost too many choices ... the best approach is just to look into it, do some homework and then pick one and GET GOING ... the plan can be automated with guides, but it's still YOU that will have to do the exercises ... the important thing is GET GOING. Thus, an easy, inexpensive antidote for that might be an app such FitCoach app or you might try other apps over the course of time, as you become more experienced, to get a professional, but personalized daily workout plan for ordinary people ... if you are training seriously and have aspirations of competing, you probably want to hire a coach or trainer ... but, for an ORDINARY person, with the simple app, you don't get distracted or waste time coming up with something that professional can do better -- instead, with when it's time for a 4 min Tabata, you don't think, you just start right in with the next exercise without thinking about it.

You will need to have a way that helps you to mind your business in some sort of consistent and prioritized fashion that makes sense for YOU. It's all about YOU ... your WHY ... you might have a laudable "I am Second" goal to try to be available to help others, but you have to remember that you do have to take of YOU and particularly your FAITH to even be able to serve others.

At the pinnacle ... your main FOCUS is your faith, your soul, your prayer-life and the spiritual approach you use to lead meditatively disciplined life ... if you want to cut down the trees, then ... FIRST, you must sharpen the axe, you must make your faith REAL by optimizing each second your time ...

Your use of time is what supports by five other areas of your life.

Your "I am Second" GOAL means that, God willing, if you are able, you will place yourself SECOND to these other five areas ... but your time mgmt has to come first ... and you should not tolerate needy people who refuse to grow continually being in your life. Providing tough love means that you will need to stay away from non-contributors and let them find their path back into your circle. You can offer to be a public example, but the entire WORLD is not your circle.

All lives are very different and unique or basically uncomparable ... moreover, we grow/change throughout life ... so how you view the world should be completely different at 20 than it was at 15 and then as you meet people, do things, get involved in different communities and networks, your life will change every five years as a result of those new involvements ... you will find that you may outgrow relationships, just as others outgrow their relationships with you.

The 20-5-1 pyramid of focus can vary SIGNIFICANTLY ... a pyramid might seen totally nonsensical to you, untterly unrecognizable at all ... it might be simpler to just think in terms of ONE priority with five supporting areas to give one balance.

So ... although we are different and change ... your personal life structure might look APPROXIMATELY something like this ...

A) your relationship with your significant other and your immediate family circle ... if you are are monk, you relationship is with your Creator
... you have a 10,000 year perspective and your focus is on more permanent, more general solutions

B) your home/vehicles/properties/investment accounts/hard assets/etc and all of the material things you need for financially sustaining and tooling up your life ...

C) your exercise/health/fitness/creative pursuits and everything you need for an active, engaged, creative life ... this is maybe most important ... because of how fitness drives time mgmt

D) your scientific or professional duties along with your educational development to sustain and grow your influence; this includes work/civic/political/church responsibilities ...

E) your networks of close friends / old neighbors / business partners /professional associates and also your extended family and immediate family of close friends ... this is what social media, txting, email, phone calls are for ... you CANNOT afford to go to funerals

Obviously, that structure will not be ideal for all ... maybe it's not even ideal for anyone ... it's just there to represent our notion of structure.

Realize, particularly that the priority is
not necessarily, going to exactly match anyone's structure of priority ... but you probably want to spend more time and energy on your immediate family than you do with your professional associates, so the five main areas that support your life are not necessarily equivalent ... but there should be some balance.

What we kind of do know with absolute certainty is if you don't place a priority on your faith -- you should be assured that the things that matter to you most are constantly in a state of being susceptible to being lost.

Obviously, we might hope otherwise, but we can pretty much guarantee that an individual WILL lose ALL of the five supporting areas ... the more SEVERE form of "death and taxes" is sort of the only gaurantee that comes with Life. You cannot expect to escape that level of loss. Will your faith sustain you in that time.?

and the 20-5-1 pyramid might not work at all for you.

The POINT ... having a POINT to focus on PRACTICALLY in your planning ... KNOWING YOUR WHY cannot happen nebulously ... you learn to more exactly, more precisely know your WHY through practice, planning and where you invest your TIME.

You need to continually work at better knowing your WHY ... it's all about having a relationship with your SOUL ... when you do not have a relationship with your SOUL, Jesus Christ and your Creator, you probably don't really have a clue about what your WHY is, ie it's not YOUR unique why -- you're just going through the motions of imitating somebody like a celebrity and that somebody changes like some fad in clothing, hair or car styles OR WORSE, you want to imitate some celebrity, car or hairstyle from your youth.

You need YOUR OWN why ....to drive YOUR OWN prioritzation structure that makes sense for your time management discipline which drives how the 86400 seconds are used in your daily practice.

Your structure should have some coherent means of dynamically rebalancing itself ... and structure might be far too rigid of a word ... it needs to be flexible so that you can create with your time ... it might stretch, bend, twist ... but the general structure should be something helps remind you or guide you back to what the goals and priorities are ... because we all have moments, hours, days, weeks where we sort of lose touch what the objective of our mission is.

The REASON why I think in terms of a pyramid ... is that I am just not very smart ... but I can think in terms of a 25-5-1 structure and I can use that structure to keep my thinking somewhat prioritized and aligned ... 25-5-1 is sufficiently messy that I can still be creative in time sculpting my life.

If you give yourself a week [or a month] to clean your house, it will take a week [or a month] ... and it won't feel like a GIFT.

Instead ... GIVE yourself 20 minute each day ... make it a GIFT ... take a break five times ....with four-minute Tabata HIIT exercise snacks which involve vacuuming/mopping/cleaning/dusting/straightening ONE area in one room ...

What makes it HIIT is that you PUSH to see how much you can get done in four minutes ... it's HIGH-INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING

DO NOT GET CONFUSED ... in any day with 30 30-minute time blocks, there are 30 five-minute TABATAs ... there are 25 OTHER exercise blocks for OTHER forms of HIGH-INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING ... those 25 other TABATA HIIT time blocks should be used for things like burpees

Brainstorming is about drinking from the firehose while staying intensely practical

As strict minimalists practicing a PRACTICAL solutionary lifestyle, we strive to be responsible for making our friends and family less fragile ... of course, we pay our bills but we are always working at reducing our costs, eliminating addictions or desires for comfort ... we are consistently getting tougher and we hold ourselves accountable for getting tougher.

Our new friendships come from discussing papers, ventures, research with thinkers who are DOING things ... we brainstorm, we critique, we push ... basically we are most interesting antifragile thinking ... we percieve the world of knowledge as a gigantic market in options with gigantic upside potential ... most of value comes from new connections.

It's important to let the dead bury their dead. In other words, you can't fix everything for people who are trying to be stupid and just not working that hard on staying abreast of developments in science, but you can stop wasting any time on crybabies or people who FOLLOW their favorite news channels.

Regard ALL teachings as if they are just a dream

Because, in all completely ACTUAL Reality, that's what this Universe is made of. NOTHING.

The Universe was created out of the purest, most complete version of absolute NOTHINGNESS by your Creator.

This is not a matter of faith, this is how we semiotically and operstionally DEFINE what the Creator is, what God is. It's strictly a DEFINITION of terms ... GOD is the Creator of all Reality. It's about WHAT is necessarily true ... it all starts somewhere.

When you attach any pronoun to God, THEN you start making it about some faith-based limitation on God.

God is more infinite than any human conception of infinity ...God the INFINITE, created the infinity of metaverses spawning Universes out of the pure nothingness of NOTHING ... God is above ALL pronouns; the concept of being partial or less that whole and needing a mate is a feature given us by a supremely whole Creator.

Permance is another human desire. Like the desire to eat or procreate, the desire for permanence serves a purpose in the creation we inhabit, but there is no such thing as PERMANENCE. Permanence is an artificial human construct that arose out of our very limited intellectual capacity to grasp the complecxity of the Universe ... most humans cannot imagine a Universe without permanence.

Eventually ... EVERY last thing dies ... you probably know that you will die, although you may not yet have come to terms with exactly what that really means ... it's not just you, all of the people you know and everything else will die with no descendants ... everything that had any any sort of record or knowledge of humanity will also disappear ... there is no remaing legacy ... since, eventually all matter and energy will get sucked into the nearly infinite, but cerainly insescapbe gravity well of a black hole until the entire Universe collapses into Nothing ... with No Time remaining for any sort or recycling, recombination or ressurection. Eventually. Everything dies.

The transcendant BEAUTY of this is in the EVENTUALLY part of it.

NOW matters.

NOW is all you really have ... but you can sorta use your NOW to develop and improve your time management discipline to improve the value of your future nows.

But in the final analysis, the only thing that NOW is for is for having a closer relationship with your soul, with Jesus Christ, with your Creator.

The only thing that is SAD here is that you are not yet using your NOW to its fullest potential ... especially if you are distracted by celebrities and fake celebrities ... because the more realistic fakes will keep getting more and more REAL to you ... because you have no relationship with NOW. with your soul, with Jesus Christ, with your Creator.

Know your WHY to diversify while always focusing on what matters most

  1. If you are a legit Christian, your ONLY comfort in this existence, death and whatever might come thereafter is that you are owned or fully possessed body, mind, soul by Jesus Christ. Dedicate EVERYTHING to Christ. If focus every day on that comfort, you will understand why you are richly blessed ... and you can stop being a whiny crybaby who is constantly hyper-worried about stupid shit that is not going to touch this comfort.

  2. Invest the bulk of your time and resources in overcoming all of your addictions to any other form of comfort. Be TOUGHER, mostly by being MORE AND MORE ANONYMOUS, be less needy or generally be less less likely to ever spend money, be far less owned by any of your desires. Give stuff away. Therefore, your second investment, after first dedicating EVERYTHING to Christ, is investing in toughness ... not seeking fame, but never shrinking from an opportunity to be an example of someone ... moving in the direction of practicing a solutionary lifestyle. Pay your bills and be responsible, but otherwise eschew ALL other comforts; remove shameless comfort addicts from your life -- steadily, each day, remove your addictions to comforts so that you are a better example of toughness. In order to ensure that you will not lapse into laziness and addiction to comfort, continue to give your stuff away.

  3. As you become free from worry and addiction you can move into venture philanthropy. Study ways to build knowledge and future wealth for ALL ... invest in gathering intelligence and building annotated knowledge graph connections with an aim of exploring all realms of science. Practice evangelical open sourcism through your connections ....stay away from idiots who refuse to get it ... develop a curated backlog of 125 collections of ideas or shared interests with new friends to just collect and expand your ideas ... you will not have time to work on that many ventures or working relationships, so prioritize -- actually work on diligently on the highest priority 25 information-gathing projects ... focus more intently on 5 special inventive project which may become ventures or books or applications furthering open source ... but FOCUS most intently on managing the improvement of your time mgmt discipline in every second of your TIME the 86400 second day ... in other words, invest in your time mgmt discipline to become your own guru for the mgmt of each second of your 86400 second day.

  4. Learn from the experience ... but regard all of the lessons, all of the teachings of this existence as a dream... THIS life is just a game, just a warmup for the eternities ... only idiots worship or treasure the vanities of this game or this existence. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CqLJQ_JAF0O/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

Study time use

I manage time to praactically PRACTICE living what I think is important ... time management is about the simple act of meditatively focusing on the task at hand.

YOU drive the schedule ... YOU prioritze and plan your day.

I absolutely HATE, HATE, HATE the sin of covetousness, jealousy, and desire ... associated with materialism ... I am a minimalist because materialism makes people worse off.

I have always been pte-disposed to minimalism, but the intensity of my dislike for it has gotten more rampant ... maybe because I might study time wasting too much ... I scroll through social media and surf the web ... looking for what is valuable to people ... I am searching quasi-randomly to get ideas about what people find valuable and why ... I see good things, eg movement culture and body weight exercises to build flexibility ... but I also see DETESTABLE crap like $109K Lincoln Navigators.

It's not easy to get to that level of proficiecy. pause 2sec Self control for YOUR mind is a consistent, habitual time management discipline. Self control does not just happen. pause 0.2secYour own mind control discipline is built in your own mind, by your mind, second by second.pause 0.5sec The self-control discipline of your time management skillset is about always being present, recognizing disruptions and quickly handling them, usually without getting distracted or upset. pause 0.5secInstead, your discipline brings your mind back to the particular task at hand. You are the one who set that task in your daily planning. pause 0.5secYou can be focused on on your agenda, but only if you stay focused. Your self-control focus must necessarily be meditative. Time management is a meditative discipline that you own, you control and you improve. pause 3secNo one is going to improve your time management discipline for you; it's a meditative discipline that you must develop. pause 1secRemember, meditation is extremely simple. We just simply sit, focus on our breath and try to avoid thinking about anything other than the tempo of our breathing. The simplicity of meditation is not one bit easy. It can seem almost impossible for those of us who have allowed attention deficit disorder to erode our self-control.pause 1.5sec In meditation, we always return our meditative focus to the steady tempo of our breath and nothing but our breath. pause 0.2sec This means that in time management, specifically meditative time management, the consistency of focus is a learned and practiced skill. Time management is a discipline that requires intention, the will and your efforts to consistently polish and fine-tune your own discipline. Time management discipline does not just happen because you want it to happen. Your practice is everything. pause 0.2secPractice, practice, practice.pause 0.2secTime management requires tens of thousands of days of practice. Each day, time management requires a willful intention to make your practice better. You will seldom, if ever, get it right. It requires the diligence of going back to basics. In time management, we must work just forcing our mental focus back to the task at hand. pause 3secYou will always need to go back to polishing the fundamentals, back to find little deviations from the basics. Simplify. Straighten. Standardize. Sustain. Shine. pause 2sec As we all know, time management, in a macro sense, is about goal setting and SMART objectives. SMART means Specific, Measurable, Aggressive, Relevant and Timebound. The SMART acronym might be a cliché. That's because clichés work so they get reused. SMART objectives are necessarily relevent because they must be a product of the process of breaking larger goals into a coherent project management work breakdown structures. SMART does not just happen. The weekly and daily action plans from our project management work breakdown structures really drive how we set the agendas that drive the time we use up in the years, weeks and days of our lives. pause 0.5sec What would OWNING your daily and weekly agenda mean for YOUR life? pause 3sec Think about owning your agenda. Do you really want to OWN your time? Are you really READY to do it? Think about what it entailspause 4sec As a skilled technician or trained professional, you might be very good at staying focused on a particular task. Maybe you can generally work without much managerial supervision. However, if you cannot own your daily, monthly or yearly agenda, you will need a job that pays you a salary for showing up. Somebody else will own your agenda and hold you accountable for your daily or weekly progress so that you can be paid.pause 0.2sec Having someone else own your agenda might actually work better for you. Especially during certain phases of your life when you have too many other things to learn to keep under control. You should try to own your own agenda while you can still make the most of your time. pause 1.5secHowever, time management is not just about big agenda or the larger macro picture. Time management also has a micro side which is always important, even if someone else drives your agenda. pause 1secTime blocking is how you focus more intently to take greater charge of optimizing the time within each thirty minute time block. pause 0.2secFocusing on optimizing a thirty-minute block helps you to focus on just a few hundred seconds at a time. pause 0.2sec Focusing on the seconds in your life, by the second, helps build the focused mind control discipline to make your days as meaningful as possible. pause 1sec You start each day by prioritizing the tasks that go into your key time blocks. In that way, you can do those things that are your own most meaningful things, not someone else's. pause 1.5sec You will probably want to focus on those things which you can share with others, influencing others and being meaningful to others, but first you should focus on just yourself, just controlling your own mind and how you can improve your time management discipline. If you can improve your time management discipline, the results in other facets of your life will materialize, but you must always be improving your time management discipline.pause 1sec Always be improving. Always be improving. Always be improving.

You are FREE to develop a discipline ... but if you abdicate on your responsibility to plan your day, the default discipline is the discipline of LAZY THINKING ... this is why most people NEED jobs, ie because they lack the DISCIPLINE to have 6 - 8 active income generating activities with a part-time [maybe 40 hr/week] throwaway Walmart greeter job, long-term investment portfolios, nanoenterprise startups and venture philanthropies ... when you are lazy and don't want to OWN your time, you will need a job, partly for the $, but mostly for the structure and time management discipline. Discipline Equals Freedom No Discipline Equals Needs External Adult Supervision, ie a job.

Written Goals With SMART Objectives

Each activity or venture of your life requires WRITTEN goals ... the general overall vision or goal can START OFF being somewhat sketchy, dreamy or nebulous -- but the general vision or goal for the activity has to move toward being a tight, rehearsible 30-45 second elevator pitch.

The elevator pitch is not enough.

Each activity also needs SMART objectives

Specific

The first rough sketchy draft can [and maybe should] START off being kind of nebulous ... maybe just a doodle on a yellow pad ... but it must move in the direction of being as concrete as possible, but not more concrete than possible, ie or else, you delude yourself with a lie. Specification is an ART, but specifying generally takes time, rumination and iterations.

Measureable / Matter

How can you PROVE to anyone that you crossed the finish line? How is it a foundation for the next big step? WHAT will this measurable goal actually set the stage for? Why/how does this particular level of accomplishment MATTER for the next phase ... does being able to do 63 burpees in 10 minutes matter for something other than just doing more burpees, ie is it part of achieving a larger goal?

Aggressive / Achievable

It should STRETCH you a bit, but it should be achievable ... because it feels good to crush the goal and do more than necessary before resetting / revising-up the next SMART objective for the next phase.

Relevant / Realistic

So what? Why bother with this goal? Why is it relevant or important to your project? Why is it relevant to accomplish this NOW? Yes, it needs to be a stretch and something that you cannot just do right now if you would just GTD, but is the goal even feasible ... a goal should not be something you should just do, eg like mowing the lawn, weeding the garden, cleaning a room ... and as with mattering is it relevant now for laying a SOLID foundation for the next immediate big push?

Time-Bound / Tied / Tight

Hour:Minute:Second on a specific day ... ideally, you should TIE the goal to an important approaching day like Easter, 4th of July, New Year's Day or your birthday ... this linkage should represent a day that is TIGHT or memorable or firmly structured in your friends/ associates comprehension of TIME, ie not something like October 9th [unless that's your son's birthday or your anniversary or some mutually important date].

Thirty 30-minute Blocks

Block your day into 30-minute time blocks

25 minute Pomodoros

One atomic task OR just work 25 minutes on reading or doing open-ended tasks.

4 minute HIIT Tabatas

Just HIIT it for 4 minutes, then regroup.

Build in five 5S periods for housekeeping

Two 30s in/out regroup periods

What's the next thing on the day planner

GTD / LifeHacks / Variation

Steal ideas. Use systems and methods that work for others. Maybe the GTD folder system works for you. Maybe there's a better way.

Don't sit ... but don't stand in one place either.

Change it up. Freshen it. But keep the structure that reaffirms the discipline.

Try things like fasting.

The most valuable lessons come from the events which we really do not want

When something unpleasant happens, label it as GOOD!

It's a GOOD test ... and it will up to YOU to make the BEST of whatever lessons you can learn from that test.

A GOOD test will necessarily SUCK ... it will push you -- understand that now and decide to embrace the SUCK of a GOOD test ... so that you can find ways to LEARN as much as you can from this lesson.

You will end up paying the tuition over and over when you do not learn from these GOOD tests.

Pray to be given the ability, strength and wisdom to understand and to make the best of the manifestation of the will of your Creator.

This will not be one bit easy ... a GOOD test must NECESSARILY suck enough to push you to places you would not go otherwise, but it will worse if you shy away from developing the mental discipline of learning as much as you can from these GOOD tests.

Decide now to embrace the suck ... you will want to get out of the GOOD test ... but decide now that you will embrace it.

In order to get tougher, you must first stop believing that you are entitled to things being EASY.

Take small steps with small tests to develop the discipline of embracing GOOD tests.

The get-TF-away-from-your-refrigerator drill

What DRILL should you work on?

I HATE basketball ... absolutely LOATHE the game ... but it's simple, just make shots under pressure so that you don't have to offensively rebound and you're fresher to make steals and defensively rebound ... just score ... otherwise the game is just chasing the ball around.

If EVERY member on basketball team would just be a member of the 50-40-90 club ... that team would win ALL of their games ... you might think that, stuff like rebounding, steals or setting up plays matter -- it dorta does, but it's secondary ... but none of that stuff fixes a bunch of lazy crybabies just chasing a ball around or sbowing off ... if players would practice about 10 hrs every day on drills to shoot under pressure ... IF ... with another couple hours spent playing basketball under the watchful eye of qualified coaches or just even qualified QA critics like TRAINED parents/alums/grad assistants ... that's correct -- parents, if they actually give a shit, should be TRAINED so they don't coach wrong ...

It should be possible to select for the best of the best among the 50-40-90 club ... if kids don't want to work on their skills, they should do other things. Playing on really SHITTY teams with players that do not give a fuck is not a life skill.

It should be obvious that a big part of that is not many kids will stick with practicing 60 hrs/week 52 weeks a year in 1-on-1 shooting drills ... in addition to basketball practice ... the tendency of those kids will be to win a championship or two and think they don't need to practice that much anymore.

GTFO of your house ...

Stop Jonesing for keeping up with the Jones

Stress is a sign that you have lost the present moment

You have become more focused on some worry or desire or distraction than the objective of the present task that you were supposed to be focused on in this particular time block.

Forgive yourself ... perhaps make a note of the stressor or thing driving your distraction ... tell yourself that you will pick it up in tomorrows planning time block ... and LET THE FUCK GO OF THAT STRESS
