I submitted a working LOD terrain by now. I used an octree with on-demand block loading, so queries are frequent, but there is fewer of them than speculative loading. I'll need to write a post explaining the full thing some day. Editing still remains to be figure out. Also, it's not fully streamed yet, as the world is still fixed size (a very large one tho). Will need to use a small grid of octrees.

Wow, nice work so far! My aging Intel HD4400 can barely handle a high distance (1024) VoxelTerrain w/ opensimplexnoise. But VoxelLODTerrain gives a much farther view, generates faster, and is much smoother to nagivate through!
