You have missed ops.mass()
command to assign nodal masses for this analysis. Also, the value of E is inf
.
Kindly assign proper E value.
Also, keep checking the mode shapes of your structure like this:
numEigen = 2
eigenValues = ops.eigen(numEigen)
print("eigen values at start of transient:",eigenValues)
and time period can be seen using:
tps= 2*3.14/np.sqrt(eigenValues)
#for checking the deflection at your node 5, you can use
for i in range(1,4):
print(ops.nodeResponse(5,i,1))

Thanks zakidotai,
Your solution solved the issue. However, I am puzzled by it. :D
Why do I need mass for the system ? I am asking for an static analysis of Kx=F. No eigenvalue problem or dynamic time history solution. There is no mass involved in static analysis. !!!
It seems that opensees solves for eigenvalues without explicitly asking for it. Which is not good in my opinion.

My apologies for posting here. I became frustrated and I did not know there is an special place for these kinds of questions.
Messages about using openseespy should go here. Thanks.
