I also run into this problem when trying to use_parallel = true.

Hi, @tiago-nyc @jbmelander thanks for reporting this bug. I fixed this issue in the new push.
briefly, A_prev and C_prev were used in analyzing 1p data and i created these two variables when bg_model is 'ring'. when we process 2p data, bg_model is NMF or SVD. then these two variables were not created. however, parfor requires all variables within the for-loop to be specified first. that's why CNMF-E threw you an error message when use_parallel=true.
