Have you tried selecting Always use interpreter core in configuration under the options menu? Go to options->configuration->general settings->uncheck hide advanced settings->advanced, and check the box that has that option

Consider joining the discord (link in the readme)
What is your gcc version?
What are you running the rom with? (hardware, emulator? which?)
Ftr gcc builds of the unmodified repo have always worked for me, on hardware and in decent emulators (simple64, ares)

I'll check out the discord in a bit. I'm currently testing on PJ64 3.0.1. GCC is version 11.4.0 (Ubuntu 11.4.0-1ubuntu1~22.04) which seems to be the latest version.
