I think we should:

  • Add an option in the settings window ("View settings" → "Defaults"), and,
  • Add a toolbar button " Word wrap" which could behave differently per tab.

Wrapping would make this perfect! Especially, combined with the columnizer. I.e. text should wrap within the column. Thanks!

Vote for wrapping per tab and wrapping in column.
Thanks!

Would like a word wrap per tab as you mentioned

What would you prefer?

  • Configure once in the settings and enable / disable it for every tab
  • Set WordWrap per tab
These are currently just some ideas which I have for the implementation. But I can't say which one is easier or how fast what implementation is.

Hi Zaunbal & all.
This feature would be also interesting for us. In my case, both options seem reasonable.
Our special interest is for log containing multi-line exception.
Another approach would be to have the possibility to have a popup displaying the content of a particular item (column field in a specific line) in a multi-line box.

Hi @zarunbal! I love LogExpert and find it very useful! A word wrap feature would be really nice to have and quite important, especially for log files with long lines. It is quite cumbersome (especially on small screens) to always scroll to the right to read the full line ...
Many other log monitoring tools have word wrap as a standard feature.

Are there any plans for word wrap?

Has this feature request progressed at all? Just wondering as some of my log entries are too long for the horizontal scrollbar, this is definitely the right software for me, it would just be that much better if it could word wrap.

@zarunbal What @Otiel suggested sounds good! Basically to have a default value (in the application settings) and then to have a possibility to override that setting on a per-tab basis.

Is this feature going to be implemented?
Just started using LogExpert and it is something I really miss.
For the moment will keep using baretail, since word wrapping is a must for me.
