Replace the front leaf springs about jeeps HOT 9 CLOSED

Got most of the left one off. I need to cut out the bearing from the frame mount. No fun.

Borrowed a Sawzall and purchased metal cutting blades.

It took 5 blades, but the bracket has been removed! I also purchased 2 other packs of blades for the other side.

The leaf springs have the bushings for a different style of shackle. I'm going to remove that bushing and replace it with the proper shackle bushing. It's also covered in tape glue and needs to be painted.

The springs are primed and the bottoms are painted

Also, the u-bolts are painted

Leaf springs and u-bolts are painted. I need to push the bushing out of the front of the spring to put the shackle bushing in.

I put the left side together Friday night.

It took about 2 hours yesterday to replace the right side springs. It's amazing how things work if you don't grind off the bolt that holds it all together.
