You can use view's initializer
and destructor
methods for that. That works fine for for the views which are not preserved. But if the view is preserved, then initializer and destructor won't fire. In that case, if you're using routes, may be you can do something like this -
var app = new Y.App ({
// . . .
});
app.route ("/foo/", function (req) {
// Call show view for 'foo'
Y.fire ("showView:foo");
});
app.route ("/bar/", function (req) {
// Call show view for 'bar'
Y.fire ("showView:bar");
});
Now you can just listen for showView:foo
event in your preserved foo view and it'll tell you when that view is attached.

You could also use Y.Do.after
, depending on your use case & when the view is being created. App.showView
also supports a callback param that gets a reference to the view that was created.
