I'm afraid that this the only current solution. But I'll investigate if it is somehow possible to avoid the switching to idle mode (maybe by sending some sort of heartbeats).

Sorry the probably stupid question... How can I install castnow (and dependencies) from a cloned github source? This would give me the very latest commit, and the ability to tweak the code. I am able to install castnow on my Ubuntu box running npm.

Something maybe worth mentioning: when the media is triggered by castnow but processed by Chromecast, such as YouTube stuff, this problem does not happen.

The problem seems to be gone when the current version of castnow's dependencies are used.
