Is there a mechanism to identify operational status of datasets? about wcmp2 HOT 12 CLOSED

• some organizations imply things are operational
• experimental products are marked/qualified (for example in a title "experimental")
• need to qualify operational and status
• we could consider status (needs codelist)

19115-3's DS_InitiativeTypeCode (https://wiki.esipfed.org/ISO_19115-3_Codelists#DS_InitiativeTypeCode) could be of use here. Thoughts?

The ISO19115-3 approach is only addressing this indirectly, better have a proper implementation of this although I haven't seen such in ISO19115 records harvested. In our internal model we use the following for this purpose:

The challenge is how to exchange this information in a standardised form.

DCAT3 adds status, but leaves the controlled vocabulary to the domain.

Options for the above/WCMP2:

1. controlled vocabulary

• provide resource status codelist as WCMP2 codelist (i.e. ISO ProgressCode, METNO definitions)

2. encoding/representation options:

• encode as a theme/concept (softly typed)
• add properties.status (strongly typed)

@amilan17 operational status? I'd be inclined to see what can be accomplished with MD_MaintenanceFrequencyCode and MD_ProgressCode.

The level of the data and quality of the data will be recorded elsewhere?
