Error when building locally about windup-distribution HOT 5 CLOSED

The issue is certainly related to Maven. I downloaded to version 3.8.8 using the Maven wrapper locally, and it worked.

I can confirm this has nothing to do with GitHub Runners. My issue was on my local machine.

For sake of easiness, I paste here the same comment:

It's an issue we found with Maven 3.9.0 update [0] when it has been adopted in GitHub hosted runners and that I've reported to GH in [1].

So if you're using Maven 3.9.0+, my suggestion is to build using downgraded Maven 3.8.7.

Hey Marco @mrizzi, I submitted 4 PRs to add Maven Wrapper to the four core projects. This should ensure that new contributors don't face this issue again (as long as of course they use the Maven Wrapper).
