For microtones, I would rather add a field, e.g. alterCents which could be a double.

The design choice of using an int was intentional since I hate dealing with floats and, for me at the time, microtonal music felt like an 'edge case'...

Are you planning to use microtones? Is it a blocker?
Adding a field for microtonal adjustment would not be too hard.

I'm not intending on using them in the short term, so absolutely no pressure. I just thought I'd mention it. Cheers :)
