Package Control: Error downloading repository. about package_control HOT 5 CLOSED

I am sorry I didn't see a previous issue Issue 39. I tried the test you suggested and discovered that I could reach many of the repositories, but not all of them.

I was able to navigate to ~/.config/sublime-text-2/Packages/PackageControl and use gedit to open Package Control.sublime-settings. I updated line 31 to allow for more time before timing out:

 // Timeout for downloading channels, repositories and packages
 // was set to 3
 "timeout": 30, 

This did allow me to load the package manager, but I am still not able to install (and pay for) the SFTP package.

Yes, it appears there is a bug on Linux with HTTPs URLs related to timeouts. In the next version of Package Control I am hoping to have a fix for it.

It is working now that I made that I made the above change (per your suggestion in Issue 39), I am excited to see the next version.

After I upgraded Ubuntu to 12.04, I had to increase the time set in Package Control.sublime-settings to 60. Originally I had it set to 45.
