You can use the --filename option to specify the path to where you want the ERD file to be generated. This path also includes the file basename. For example, when I run the following

bundle exec erd --open --attributes content --filetype pdf --filename path/to/erd-filename

the diagram is generated and stored as path/to/erd-filename.pdf.

Notes

  1. The directories in the path must already exist before running the above command. In my example above, the path and to directories already exist.
  2. I've only tried this on MacOS. I assume the same would apply on any unix-like OS where / delimits directories in a path. Not sure of the support for Windows delimiters.

The docs site is a bit outdated, but if someone wants to add this to the README... 👍

But is there a way to put it in a config? I mean I want it to be there after rake db:migrate.
