我觉得有必要忠实于原文，词语背后的意思可以放进译者注里面。
另外直译为"完成了一半的结果"比较好听一点。

我也不喜欢译者太过自由发挥, 只不过类似我这里提到的 一半结果 ,有些生硬, 乍一看忽略掉了一半,反而造成了误解, 当然也许只是我.
