wgcf is flagged as trojan by windows defender. about wgcf HOT 4 CLOSED

I'm on windows 11 and this problem occurs on the latest release.

Where did you download this from? The file name does not match the one in GitHub (wgcf_2.2.19_windows_amd64.exe). Note that GitHub is the only official place to get wgcf, everything else may actually be a virus.

The problem is gone and I'm pretty sure I downloaded it from github.
Can this kind of problem occur from a malware in my pc?

Yes, this could be caused by malware on your system, or by a malicious actor intercepting your internet traffic and replacing the file as you download it.

Please check the checksums.txt file that comes with every release here on GitHub, and verify that the hash inside matches the SHA256 hash of the binary you downloaded. For your release, the hash is:
