I'm getting a similar error with python 2.7
Error detected while processing function provider#python#Call: line 18: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/home/steve/.janus/vdebug/plugin/python/start_vdebug.py", line 10, in <module> import vdebug.runner ImportError: No module named runner Traceback (most recent call last): File "<string>", line 1, in <module> NameError: name 'DebuggerInterface' is not defined
This wasn't happening prior to yesterday when I switch to the v2-integration branch to try it, then switched back to the master branch.

That does look very strange - you obviously have Python support in your Vim, but I have no idea why Python is tripping up on that line!
Can you print the output of running this vim command?
:python import sys; print sys.version_info
Also, which version of Vdebug are you using? You could try using the version from the dev branch, as we may get lucky with a bug fix.
Thanks

I get this line running the command:
(2, 4, 3, 'final', 0)
Vdebug version is 1.2
I've switched to the dev branch (in .vim/vdebug), but that doesn't seem to make any difference

It's possible that your Python version is too old, but I'm not familiar enough with syntactic changes between different versions of Python. Is there any chance of upgrading to Python 2.7? If not, don't worry - I'll try and compile a vim with Python 2.4.3 and see if I can reproduce the error.
Thanks

Well, I tried and failed to compile Vim with Python 2.4! Is there any chance of you upgrading your Python?

I can confirm that Vdebug doesn't work with Python < 2.6, as there are several syntactic changes, including the try...except
statement. It would be a pretty major task to rewrite it to fit older versions of Python, and I'm afraid I don't have the time to undertake it!
However, if you're a Python developer and don't mind getting your hands dirty then I'm happy to accept pull requests :)
Sorry I can't be more help!
