100000 is in anticipation of the EIP that wants to double the cost of SSTORE. I think this is a good number and will not change it.
Just because something is done by many big players doesn’t mean it is the best way. Solady prioritizes first principles over social consensus.
For Azuki’s auction, it is ok, because non-EOAs can’t bid.

(...Though if non-EOAs cannot bid, why not just use transfer?)
