Can this component support unicode content? about asciitable HOT 5 OPEN

Chinese characters usually occupy two positions

from asciitable.

It works alright if u use a fixed width font like GNU Unifont

The String .length() from java causes problem like this.
I'm french, when i use the word 'Désignation' java count 12 char instead of 11!

This code is a better 'length' calculator (found it partially on stackoverflow):
