Slow performance on older phones about ifwatcher HOT 1 OPEN

Hi,

There is definitely a lot of performance improvements that can be done.
But also google maps API tends to be heavy even on high en phones due to the high number of markers that are being drawn on the map (each airplane is re-drawn 15 times per second to simulate them moving in real-time).

Some things things that I have to do to improve performance:

• - Reduce the refresh rate when the map is zoomed out
• - Reduce the number of trail lines drawn on screen when the plane is selected (especially when the flight has a long duration)
• - Cluster planes together when they are really close to each-other to reduce the number of plane displayed on screen
• - Optimize memory allocation (there is a lot of allocation done in loops currently :( )
• - Maybe reduce refresh rate when the map is scrolling?
• - Investigate the amount of work done in the UI thread and delegate as much as possible to a worker thread.
• - Probably other things I haven't thought about yet :)
