Thank you for your reports--unfortunately the issues you've reported are for the other repository: https://github.com/godly-devotion/Baka-MPlayer ; @godly-devotion will see these issues regardless so worry not but this repository is for version 1.9.9 soon to be 2.0; it's a step up and doesn't have any of the issues mentioned but it has yet to be released for windows. We thank you for your contribution and hope you continue to do so when we release 2.0.

@ConundrumAdInfinitum Hey thanks for trying it out! Because @u8sand and I are currently working on this newer version of baka-mplayer, I unfortunately don't have time to fix up any new issues in the legacy (my) version. If the x86 builds work for you, there are no major differences between that and x64 bit builds. As @u8sand said, I'd suggest waiting for the Windows builds for the new baka-mplayer.

That being said, the video may not be showing up because of opengl problems on your PC. Try opening the Baka MPlayer\mpv\config file and rewriting the line starting with vo to just vo=direct3d_shaders

Sweet, thanks for the tip. I'll try that, and report back to the Issue Tracker. I really don't mind beta testing the x86_64 build remotely, I just need guidance, as I think I mentioned that I don't program, but I do know my way around a text editor (like Notepad + +), screencap tools, etc.

The x86 build is fairly ideal ATM, though I'm guessing you guys are attempting to add 64bit features like more RAM access ability, and multithreaded performance to the x86_64 build target? Also a universal binary never hurts.

I'll go get some coffee, grab the build, monkey around, and report back.

LOL, i gotta laugh at myself this time, I missed the first email, and to
top it off, I therefore didn't catch the gist of the whole conversation.
Joshua, I will try the fix you mentioned for the vo line in the config
file, although i did have an error this morning with the x86 build too,
JUST like with the x86_64 build. I tried deleting the /Baka
MPlayer/mpv/fontconfig file to have it respawn, then had to manually kill
the program with the Task Manager in windows. Lastly I went into /Baka
MPlayer/Baka MPlayer.settings and deleted the .settings file there which
cleared up the issue and now the x86 build isn't pitching a fit. I'll test
the x86 and x86_64 builds for these behaviors, see if the vo command helps
any, if they bind up and need their fontconfig files flushed, or their
.settings files flushed, and how well they work out for me today. Then I'll
file the Issue Tracker reports for you guys.

Hi Daniel,

Sure, I'll happily report issues for the 2.0 branch. I like the program! I
was replying to Joshua that I would run some more simple trial and error
debugging based on his and your suggestions: the config file in the mpv
directory under Baka MPlayer to use just the direct3d_shaders, that worked,
no more black/blank screens, i just commented out what was there so i
didn't lose the config's original code. I already posted in the Issue
Tracker that 1.5.0 hates to be launched from a Windows Shortcut placed on
the Desktop or anywhere else. I placed a screencap of the error dialog in
the Tracker.

All in all its working fine for what it is so far, a nice lightweight shell
for mpv-player that is going to keep improving over time. Video renders
nicely on it.

Wish I had a nicer card for it to run on, i only have a builtin Radeon HD
4290, LOL.

BTW, English I am rather good at, so I might suck at traslating English to
other languages, but getting technical with manuals and regular
documentation, i.e. boring writing, I could do handily.
